Creighton’s Town and Country:
Your One-Stop-Shop for all things Farm and Ranch
by Kate Sanchez
If you’ve ever shopped at Creighton’s Town and Country, it’s easy to see that they offer a variety of services. Their merchandise, along with top -notch customer service, has made them one of Roosevelt County’s most premier places to shop for your farm and ranch needs.
A full-service farm and ranch store, Creighton’s Town and Country is owned by Garland and Leslie Creighton. They carry everything a person needs in terms of supplies, livestock feed, equipment supplies, animal health, fencing etc. According to Leslie, they have also recently increased their pet department in terms of feed and supplies. Additionally, they are a retail distributor for jewelry, clothing, gifts, and western décor. A business made up of a huge selection, but with a small-town feel, you don’t necessarily need to own livestock to shop at this location. If country flare of any kind is your go-to for decorating or your wardrobe, you’ll be sure to find what you’re looking for.
Although they’re located in a small town, Creighton’s Town and Country offers a big-time selection. They offer brands of feed such as Purina, Hi-Pro and ADM Feeds; as well as clothing from Wrangler, Cinch, Cruel Girl, Carhartt, and Cowgirl Tuff, just to name a few. For horse and tack products, they carry names like Weaver Leather, Equibrand, and Professionals Choice; as well as farm and ranch equipment from Priefert, Behlen, and Powder River. Additionally, they carry Montana Silversmiths, and M&F Western Products; and an assortment of jewelry galore!
The original Creighton’s Town and Country location is in Elida and still functions today, mainly as a point for ranchers to pickup feed. Creighton’s Portales location will celebrate 20 years as a business in September. On average, the store employs approximately 15 people. Garland and Leslie grew up in Elida, and still reside there today. She says they are looking forward to their kids being out of high school and in college and getting them more involved with the business and continuing on with it.
And in Leslie’s opinion, there is absolutely nothing better than serving the tight-knight community of Portales and its surrounding areas. “It’s the best,” she shares, “The customers are very loyal and supportive.” Even outside of the walls of their business, she and her staff see the magic that happens when living in such an amazing place. “Not all communities are like this one,” Leslie shares, “It’s a special place.” Specifically, she mentions the community involvement in times of need for fellow residents and how people really step up to help others in these times.
