The Roosevelt County Community Development Corporation (RCCDC) led by Jodi Diaz has been officially recognized as a certified Economic Development Organization (EDO) by the New Mexico Economic Development Department (NMEDD) for the 2024-2025 year. The award was accepted by Diaz at the 2024 Governor’s Conference on Economic Development in September.
This certification was obtained after two years of Diaz applying and comes with a grant of up to $40,000 with the possibly of renewal up to ten years upon recertification and available funding. This funding will go into the “general operation” budget for the department.
The RCCDC’s focus is on a strong economy for the residents and stakeholders of Roosevelt County by attracting new businesses and supporting existing ones. This funding will assist in ongoing programs, staffing, recruitment events, organization operations, and business retention.
The RCCDC has had a high turnover in leadership over the past several years, but Diaz is determined to reach new levels of accomplishment and seek out avenues of funding. The application process alone for this certification required the department to establish five new operating components from the ground up.
“We are honored to receive this certification from the New Mexico Economic Development Department,” said Jodi Diaz, Executive Director of RCCDC. “This process has fueled our efforts to build a strong economic foundation in Roosevelt County, and we look forward to continuing our work to support the growth and prosperity of our community.”
