The City of Portales wraps up their “Cleanest Yard”  Keep New Mexico True contest.  According to City employee Jodi Diaz nominations were submitted by City Council from the ward they represent.

Four yards were chosen each month for the award.  A sign stating Cleanest Yard – Keep New Mexico True was placed in the yard along with a $25.00 Visa Cash Gift Card given to each of the winners, sponsored by The Roosevelt Review.

Jodi says, “the program was a success and she hopes to have even more participation and yards nominated next year.  The contest will run June, July and August next year and the City would welcome gift sponsors to reward the winners.  It was our goal to promote pride in our community and foster some good natured competition in our neighborhoods. ”

Jodi went on to say, “We appreciate all community members that have worked hard to keep their yards clean and beautiful and we hope to continue this program next summer.  We also appreciate the support and partnership with the Roosevelt Review for this contest.
Thank you,”
