TYLER, Texas – The Eastern New Mexico women’s soccer team wrapped up the 2021 season at the University of Texas at Tyler on Saturday afternoon. The Greyhounds fought to a 1-1 double overtime tie.
Eastern took a 1-0 lead in the 62nd minute of play when Elita Casias collected a long cross on a corner kick from Tori Galindo. E. Casias sent the ball sailing into the top of the net to tally her second goal of the season.
The Patriots responded just over ten minutes later with a goal on a penalty kick from Jordan Colbert to tie the game, 1-1.
Neither team found the go-ahead goal in regulation, so the teams continued to battle through two overtime periods. Ultimately, the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
