HANNAH GRADY SCORED IN THE 10TH MINUTE OF THE CONTEST

Eastern New Mexico Women’s Soccer concluded its season with 1-0 win over UT Tyler on Friday afternoon at Greyhound Stadium on Senior Day. ENMU finish the 2022 season with a 5-10-2 record, while sporting a 3-7-2 LSC standing. The Patriots end their season at 7-5-5, while posting a 2-5-5 conference record.

The Greyhounds wasted no time to find the games first shot, with Tori Galindo dragging an effort wide. Shortly after, the Greyhounds were able to produce the games first goal with Hannah Grady finding the bottom left corner with a 30-yard strike. Sierra Villanueva started the move with a throw-in to Emma Hafenbrak holding up the ball to find Grady 30 yards from goal. Grady’s first-time effort curled away from diving goalkeeper Camri Cecil, as it into nestled into the bottom left corner.

With the Greyhounds taking a 1-0 lead, UT Tyler started to put some pressure on the ENMU defense. The Patriots recorded two efforts on goal to test Samantha Jeffries, with the ENMU shot stopper making two saves. Both teams battled in the midfield for the remainder of the half, with neither team able to find a shot on goal in the final minutes of the first half.

At the restart, the visiting team wasted no time to find a shot on goal, with Kylie Criner’s shot being saved by Jeffries. Then, ENMU had a chance to go up 2-0 with Ashley Sexton through on goal. The forward managed to get their shot on target but Cecil denied Sexton. As the final minutes ticked away, the Patriots managed three more shots with just one attempt on goal. The contest ended with the Greyhounds taking all three points from a 1-0 win.
