Women’s Basketball Remains in D2SIDA South Central Regional Rankings
Following a 1-1 week last weekend, the Eastern New Mexico women’s basketball team is tied for the No. 6 spot in the Week 11 D2SIDA South Central Regional Rankings.
The Greyhounds tipped off the week with a dominate 84-60 win over Angelo State, securing the largest margin of victory on the road against the Rambelles in school history. The Hounds overtook ASU for the No. 6 spot in the regional rankings this week and also avenged a 70-60 loss to the Rams suffered earlier this season.
Eastern wrapped-up the weekend against #22 Lubbock Christian and fell 77-53 inside RIP Griffin Center. In the last meeting between the two squads, the Greyhounds defeated the Lady Chaps in a 69-68 overtime thriller. LCU has posted an unblemished 11-0 record this season when playing in front of their home supporters.
The Green and Silver are back in action this weekend as they welcome Texas Woman’s on Thursday in the team’s Breast Cancer Awareness Game Followed by Tarleton State on Saturday for the Hounds annual Pink Out Game.
The Hounds currently share the No. 6 spot with Tarleton in the regional rankings and sit right below the Texans in the Lone Star Conference standings. With some victories this weekend the High Plains squad have a chance to climb in both rankings.
