PORTALES, NM – Eastern New Mexico University Athletic Director Dr. Greg Waggoner has announced the resignation of Katie Welborn as head softball coach. Welborn served in that capacity for three seasons and registered 52 wins.
Among the highlights of Welborn’s tenure at Eastern was the 2017 season, which saw the team win 20 games for the first time since the 2007 season. In 2018, Erikka Burke shattered the single-season career and career homerun records, while the Hounds bashed the second-highest total in team history.
A nation-wide search to fill the position will begin immediately.
