PORTALES, NM – Director of Athletics, Dr. Paul Weirrecently announced several promotions and additions to the Eastern New Mexico Athletic Department senior staff.

Michael Molina has been promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations. Molina is in his third year at Eastern and is also in charge of all operations pertaining to ENMU’s athletic facilities.

In his role as Associate AD for Internal Operations, Molina manages contracts with BSN/Under Armor, transportation, and oversees the athletic training room and strength and conditioning program.

“I would like to thank President Caldwell and Dr. Weir for this opportunity to grow in ENMU Athletics. It is a great honor and I will work hard to merit this promotion,” said Molina.

Elizabeth Acosta has been promoted to the new role of Assistant Athletic Director for Student Success. Acosta is in her third year with the ENMU Athletic Department but began working at Eastern in 2016 as an administrative assistant with the Upward Bound Program and Nursing Program. Acosta started as the Athletic Administrative Office Coordinator in 2019 and assumed the role of Senior Woman’s Administrator in 2020.

“I am humbled and excited to begin this new role. I look forward to collaborating with faculty, staff, and coaches as we work towards the success of our students. I want to express my sincere appreciation and thanks to President Caldwell and Dr. Paul Weirfor their trust and belief in me to lead our student-athletes in this new role,” said Acosta.

As the Assistant AD for Student Success, Acosta will oversee student-athlete academic, social, and mental wellbeing to ensure ENMU student-athletes have the best experiences possible athletically, in the classroom, and in the community.

Colter Linford joins the Greyhounds for his first year as the Director of Compliance. In this role, Linford is responsible for ensuring student-athletes are eligible for competition and advising student-athletes and coaches on NCAA rules.

Linford comes to Eastern from the University of Wyoming where he has been working in the general counsel office while completing a Juris Doctor degree. He has also been a Game and Event Management Intern at Wyoming where he assists in the preparation of game management for various sport programs. 

From May 2019- August 2019, he was an extern in the NCAA Compliance Office at Wyoming. Linford wrote, edited, and reviewed waivers for student-athletes, researched and answered compliance questions from coaches, and updated rosters and academic performance markers for teams. 

“I am incredibly excited to get to work as the new Director of Compliance for Eastern New Mexico. The interactions that I have had with the staff and coaches have been extremely optimistic. Opportunities for growth abound in this position. I hope to be able to help the university and build some great connections with this community, the coaching staffs, the student-athletes and all others involved in ENMU Athletics,” Linford said.
