Wanda Fern (Meyers) Corbin May 3, 1934 ~ July 31, 2024 (age 90)

Graveside services for Wanda Corbin, 90, of Portales will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 3, 2024 in the Portales Cemetery with Jon Forrest officiating.  All of Wanda’s grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Wanda Fern (Myers) Corbin was born May 3, 1934 in Hollis, OK to the home of Velma Lorene (Sanford) and John Allison Myers, and died Wednesday, July 31, 2024 in Clovis, NM.

Wanda grew up in Floyd, NM and graduated from Floyd High School.  Wanda married Dorman McClellan Corbin on March 6, 1953 in Floyd, NM. He passed away on December 5, 2020 after 67 years of marriage. Wanda drove a school bus for a few years and was a teacher’s aide in special education.  She also worked for 19 years at ALCO. Wanda enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking.  She also liked reading and especially liked shopping.  Wanda loved to spend time with her family especially all the grandkids and great grandkids.  She will be greatly missed by all of them.

Wanda is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Becky Corbin of Belton, TX and David and Janis Corbin of Clovis; a sister, Mary Crabtree of Midland, TX; nine grandchildren, James, Jarrid, Joshua, Michael and Jonathan Corbin, Lorie Gronner, Karen Rojas, Cindy Polk and Travis Irwin; fourteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, John Meyers, a sister, Laveice Huddleston, a daughter, Judy Irwin who died Mar. 28, 2019, and her husband Dorman Corbin.
