PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico volleyball closed Dig Pink/US Bank Family Weekend with a 3-0 sweep of Oklahoma Christian University on Saturday afternoon. Eastern move to 2-15 on the season, with a 2-7 Lone Star Conference (LSC) record, the Eagles fall to 6-13 on the season, with a 2-8 standing in conference play.
Both teams couldn’t be separated in the opening stages of the first set, 12-11 ENMU. Each team found 3-0 runs, with the Greyhounds capitalizing on two OC attack errors and a McKinzie Davis kill, 18-18. From then, the Hounds rattled off five straight points, with Jasmine Gannon finding two kills and Adriana Puni finding two blocks. Eastern closed the set by a score of 25-20.
The start of the second stanza was close as both teams went go back and forth. The second set saw 12 tie scores and eight lead changes. Oklahoma Christian held a lead late in the set, 22-21, but ENMU took back control to end the set. The Hounds closed out the second set on a 4-1 run with Mikaela Garvin and Davis finding kills, then taking advantage of two OC errors, winning the set 25-23.
Eastern did not waste time in the third set, racing out to a 9-3 lead over the Eagles. Gannon started the set with a kill, with Garvin, Davis, and Kali Nelson finding a kill as ENMU found the early lead. At that point, both teams traded points with each team going on small spurts to set the score at 19-15 ENMU. The Greyhounds ended the game on a 6-3 run, with Gannon finding two kills, and Puni adding a kill also. The Hounds captured the final set 25-18, and the match 3-0

- ENMU posted 43 kills on the afternoon, over the 26 kills from OC.
- Eastern provided 60 digs on the day, with the Eagles having 47 digs.
- Gannon posted a game high 17 kills, with Gracelyn Stubbs adding seven kills to the Greyhound attack.
- Rae Sapiga collected 22 assists during the game, with Qitana Sapiga contributing 13 assists.
- Gannon and Daejia Rodriguez each added 12 digs, while Q.Sapiga found 10 digs on the afternoon.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Eastern met Oklahoma Christian for the first time in program history, now holding a 1-0 series edge.
- Gannon posted a seventh double-double of the season. Q.Sapiga posted their second double-double of the season.
- R.Sapiga found a season high four service aces, also tying a personal single-game career high.
- Eastern will be on the road next, traveling to Lawton, Okla. to take on Cameron University, Friday, Oct. 22. First serve will be at 4:30 p.m.
