Game Recap: Women’s Soccer | | Nicolle Holcomb The Eastern New Mexico women’s soccer team traveled to the University of Texas Permian Basin Wednesday evening and the Greyhounds were handed a close 1-0 loss.
Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first half, but the Hounds did hold an 8-5 shot advantage through 45 minutes of play.
With time winding down in regulation, UTPB’s Lexie Gilley made a run into the box and dodged a defender before sending a high shot past the hands of Eastern goalkeeper, Whitney Dockweiler.
The Greyhounds continued to pressure offensively and saw several more shots on goal, but the Falcons were able to play out the clock to pick up the 1-0 victory.

- Eastern outshot UTPB, 18-11, but the Falcons led in shots on goal, 8-7.
- Both teams saw four corner opportunities throughout the game.
- Katey Stice paced the Greyhound offense with five shots, two of which were on goal.
