The Eastern New Mexico men’s basketball team was handed an 80-51 loss by the University of Texas at Tyler on Thursday night.
The Greyhounds opened the game with a three-pointer from Niko Bossinakis but the Patriots responded with four threes in a row to quickly gain a 12-3 advantage.
UT Tyler maintained that lead throughout the remainder of the frame to go up, 34-21, at halftime.
The Patriots opened the second half with a 11-0 run (19:34-16:28) before Eastern saw its first basket of the frame from James Jordan.
UT Tyler kept control the rest of the way, ultimately earning the 80-51 victory over ENMU.
NOTABLE STATS
- JaQuan Morris led the Greyhound offense with 11 points, while Kentrell Pullian and Kevin Nze Mba both added 10 points.
- Defensively, Nze Mba paced ENMU with five rebounds and two steals.
- For UT Tyler, Micah Fuller led all scorers with 21 points and Paul Djoko pulled down a team-leading seven rebounds.
- The Patriots finished the contest shooting 50.0 percent from the field and 52.2 percent from beyond the arc, compared to Eastern’s 28.3 (FG) and 24.0 (3PT) shooting percentages.
