The Rosary for Ulysses Gonzales, 31, of Portales, will be recited at 9:00 AM, Thurs., Sept. 19, 2019 at St. Helen Catholic Church, and will be followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 AM, with Fr. Francisco Carbajal as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery.
Ulysses Alexander Gonzales was born Aug. 25, 1988 in Portales, to the home of Edqidges “Vicki” (Hernandez) and Ruben Gonzales and died in Lubbock, TX on Sept. 11, 2019. The family moved to Clovis when Uly was a teenager, and he graduated from Clovis High School in 2006. As a small boy he played Little League Baseball. Uly worked as a car detailer for Hamilton Auto Group, and had recently been employed at Burger King Restaurant. He always enjoyed family gatherings, was a big tease and jokester. He liked to watch movies and football, and was a Patriots fan. He also enjoyed playing video games. On Mar 12, 2017 in Las Vegas, NM he was married to Sofia Hernandez.
He is survived by his wife, Sofia of Portales; a son, Ivan Gonzales of Albuquerque; a daughter, Sabree Gonzales of Albuquerque; his parents, Vicki and Ruben Gonzales of Clovis; a step-son, Emeliano Marquez of Portales; two step-daughters, Mireya Marquez of Portales and Alicia Marquez of Midland, TX; and two brothers, Ruben Gonzales of Clovis and Ceaser and Veronica Gonzales of Portales.
