LUBBOCK, Texas – The Eastern New Mexico track & field programs competed at the Corky/Crofoot Shootout hosted by Texas Tech on Friday and Saturday.

In the field events, Tamia Smith continued to find success. She finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 41.02 meters (134-7) which was good for third in the Eastern record books. In the shot put, Smith earned fifth place with a 12.79-meter throw. That distance was good for third in the record books, and she now owns all of the top-five program marks.

Smith also finished sixth in the hammer throw with a distance of 40.47 meters (132-9).

Jessica Campbell and Teagan Mosley finished second and third in the javelin. Campbell recorded a distance of 36.36 meters (119-3), while Mosley went 28.11 meters (92-2).

Campbell and Mosley also competed in the long jump and had jumps of 4.92 meters (16-1.75) and 4.26 meters (13-11.75), respectively. Campbell finished 11th overall and Mosley was 15th.

In the pole vault, Paige Graham had a 3.23-meter (10-7) performance, which was good for fourth in the program record books.

The Greyhounds saw several great performances on the track as well. In the 100-meter hurdles, Campbell finished fifth with a time of 16.00 seconds which puts her second in the record book. Mosley earned a seventh-place finish in the event with a time of 17.47.

Iziah Hall and Alex Aguirre finished 10th and 11th in the 200m with times of 23.46 and 24.06, respectively.

Malethabo Seema recorded a seventh-place finish in the 800m after crossing the line in 2:21.07.

Lethabo Seema finished fourth in the 1500m with a time of 4:59.28.

In the men’s 1500m, Eastern saw Kelvin Kipkemboi finish in 4:15.33, which was good for ninth place.

Marta Pascoa earned third place in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:20.85. Her altitude adjusted time was 12:11.62 which puts her fifth in the program record books in the steeplechase.

On the men’s side of the 3000m steeplechase, Toby Kirk finished in 11:15.91, which was good for sixth place.

Eastern has three runners compete in the women’s 5000m run. Mercy Rotich finished fourth with a time of 18:23.45. Her altitude adjusted time of 18:08.46 puts her fourth in program history. Aminata Kenyawani crossed in 18:37.63 for seventh place while Kayla Sisneros finished 15th with a time of 19:27.75

The 4×400 relay team of Caroline Bachman, M. Seema, Torisha LaForce, and L. Seema earned fifth place with a time of 4:07.25.

The Greyhounds will compete at the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 6-7-8 at West Texas A&M.
