This will be the Greyhound second competition of the year after beginning its season at the Texas Tech Corky Classic. ENMU are looking to continue its success as they prepare for the 2022 Lone Star Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships held on Feb. 26-27 at the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Last time out, the Hounds had a handful of standouts at the Texas Tech Corky Classic. Malethabo Seema clocked a third-place finish in the 400-meter dash, section B, posting a time of 1:00.65. Meanwhile, Lethabo Seema marked a fourth-place standing in the 1000-meter dash crossing the line in 3:15.30 Marta Pascoa posted a career best time in the mile, clocking a time of 5:26.04 taking second-place.
In the weight throw, Tamia Smith entered the ENMU record books with a personal best throw of 13.83m (45′ 4.5″). The throw was 5th in the all-time records, and was the longest throw by an ENMU since 2016.
For the men’s team. Japhet Toroitich finished in 6th place for the 600-yard run (1:12.85), while Kelvin Kipkemboi clocked 4:34.46, taking sixth-place.
