The Elida Tigers traveled to Roswell for a conference game against Gateway Christian on April 20, 2021 at 7 PM.
The Tigers fought hard in the first period and took a narrow lead of 12-10 before going into the 2nd. By halftime though, Gateway Christian had taken the lead 24-21.
The 3rd period was a lot of back and forth on the scoreboard, with Gateway Christian taking the lead again by only 1 point. Going into the 4th, the Warriors were up 39-38.
Elida took charge of their fate in the 4th though and outscored Gateway Christian 14 points to 3. This eliminated the deficit and overcame their opponents. The final score was 52-42 with Elida adding another win to their record.
They are now 6-1 this season. Their next game is on April 23 at 5:30 PM in Elida against Des Moines High School.
