The Portales Animal Shelter is always in need of above ground dog beds, leashes, collars, dog and cat food.  If you are missing your pet, please check back often.  Don’t depend on a call as there are so many dogs and cats picked up every day and only YOU will know if it is your pet for sure!

There are always dogs and cats that are looking for homes so consider adoption first!

The Portales Police Department provides full-service animal control to all residents within the Portales city limits. Animal Control Officers attend state certification classes and are trained to handle calls for service that involve domestic animals or wildlife. The Division provides patrol service six days per week and may be called out after hours in case of an emergency.  If you are in need or barn cats, ask about their barn cat program!

ADOPTION FEES
Adoption Fee $25.00
Spay / Neuter Fee $30.00. This fee is refundable upon proof that the animal was spayed or neutered.
Vaccination Fee $30.00. This fee is refundable upon proof of vaccination.
