Christmas is coming around the corner sooner than you think, and although New Mexico might not get as much holiday weather as the rest of the country, the Land of Enchantment knows how to get in the spirit and have an amazing time each holiday season. If you’re a fan of lights, this walk-through experience will simply dazzle you as 550 unique light displays with over a million lights sparkle and twinkle underneath the Albuquerque night sky. Get ready to get in the spirit, because the largest holiday light show in New Mexico is coming up quick.
River of Lights is an annual holiday event at ABQ BioPark in Albuquerque that has become a tradition for New Mexicans near and far.
With over a million lights to dazzle you and over 500 different displays, this walk-through light show is the perfect way to get in the spirit.
Being New Mexico’s largest light show, it’s not hard to see why they would go all out every year.
Synchronized holiday music is played throughout the park as you stroll past dozens of unique displays. As well as plenty of holiday spirit, food and drinks are available to make this the perfect night out for the whole family.
On select nights in December, kids can board the Polar Express and take a train ride with Santa and his elves for the perfect Christmas experience.
You’ll find many displays that are unique to ABQ BioPark. It even attracts thousands of people every year, so be sure to get your tickets in advance. This year River of Lights is running between November 24, 2018 – December 30, 2018

River of Lights is located at ABQ BioPark at 2601 Central Ave. NW, Albuquerque, NM. The light show runs from November 24 to December 30, 2018, and is closed Decemberr 24th and 25th. The event runs from 6p.m. to 9:30p.m., and admission is $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 3 to 12.
