The Portales Public Library will be closed to mitigate the rapidly continuing spread of
coronavirus in the community.
PORTALES, NM, November 10, 2020 — City Manager Sammy Standefer has announced that
the Portales Public Library will be closed until a date to be determined due to the rapid spread of
Covid-19.
The library will be closed to attempt to safeguard the public and City staff who
provide critical services. Call (575)356-6662, Option 1, #1 for general questions/directions.
The Portales Mayor and Council asks that residents use extra caution, follow CDC guidelines on
washing hands, social distancing, and other precautionary measures. Residents are asked to stay
home if they are sick or not feeling well.
