UNITE’s Arrive Alive Tour® is the nation’s number-one ranked drunk and distracted driving
awareness event, as well as the first-and-only marijuana driving simulator in the country. The Arrive Alive
Tour uses a high-tech, state-of-the-art simulator that allows participants to drive while distracted, drunk,
or drugged in a fully functioning vehicle—without moving or being intoxicated. This innovative simulator
enables participants to experience the real-life dangers without facing real-life consequences.
In New Mexico, impaired and distracted driving is a significant concern. The state continues to
combat this issue with community programs aimed at reducing crashes, injuries, and fatalities. With young
drivers (ages 16-20) being 17 times more likely to die in a crash when they have a BAC of .08% compared
to when they have not been drinking, educating teens on the dangers of impaired and distracted driving is
critical. Driver distraction alone accounts for more than 58% of teen crashes.
The Arrive Alive Tour® aims to empower teens with the knowledge and tools they need to build
lifelong safe driving habits. By bringing this interactive, life-saving program to schools, we can work
together to reduce impaired and distracted driving incidents and make our roads safer for everyone.
Sponsored by the Roosevelt County DWI Program, the Arrive Alive Tour brings this transformative
experience directly to the students of Elida High School.
