We’re all used to the traditional roasted turkey on Thanksgiving Day. It’s a staple at our dinner tables, but after years and years of the same old bird, some of us have looked for a way to switch it up. Fried, smoked, or roasted, the traditional Thanksgiving turkey has changed over the years, and this recipe is just another tasty twist for your taste buds. According to the recipe creator, “grilling turkey is the best way of cooking it — it comes out tender and juicy every time!” He says the drippings are perfect to prepare gravy with. So, if you’ve been looking for a way to switch it up this year, this may be your ticket to the tastiest turkey you’ve ever made!
The Greatest Grilled Turkey
Prep: 30 minutes
Cook: 3 hours
Ready In: 3 hours 45 minutes
Ingredients:
- 12 lb. Whole Turkey, thawed.
- 1 tbs. Vegetable Oil
- 1 tsp. Italian Seasoning
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Directions:
- Rinse turkey and pat dry. Turn wings back to hold neck skin in place. Return legs to tucked position in the pan.
- Brush turkey with oil. Season inside and out with Italian seasonings, salt, and pepper.
- Place turkey, breast side up, on a metal grate inside a large roasting pan. Arrange pan on the prepared grill.
- Grill 2 to 3 hours, to an internal thigh temperature of 180 degrees F.
- Remove turkey from grill and let stand 15 minutes before carving. Enjoy!
