PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico senior fullback Paul Terry has been nominated as one of 36 players in the nation to be considered for the 2019 Harlon Hill Trophy.
The award is presented each year to the Division II College Football Player of the Year based on nomination and voting from sports information directors at the 167 NCAA Division II football-playing institutions. Terry’s nomination comes on the heels of a 2019 First Team All-Lone Star Conference selection after winning the LSC rushing title and finishing second in all of Division II football with 1,778 yards on the ground this season.
Terry is one of 10 running backs nationally to be nominated for the award and will move on to the regional voting ballot for Super Region 4 alongside 11 other names. The top two vote receivers from each region will advance to the national ballot and the winner of the award will be announced on Friday, Dec. 20th and the award will be presented at the Little Rock Touchdown Club awards banquet on Jan. 9th, 2020.
Terry and the Hounds will have one more chance to put the Ground Strike offense on full display at the 2019 Heritage Bowl in Corsicana, Texas on Dec. 9th at noon against Southern Arkansas.
