RICHARDSON, Texas – Eastern New Mexico had two athletes in senior fullback Paul Terry and junior wide receiver Justin Manyweather named Players of the Week as announced by the Lone Star Conference office Monday morning.

Terry was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Week after matching the school record with 40 carries and totaled 225 yards for his fifth straight game with 100 yards or more rushing to begin the 2019 season. Manyweather was tabbed as the LSC Special Teams Player of the Week after returning a punt 70 yards for a touchdown to put the first points on the board in Eastern New Mexico’s 27-24 win over Midwestern State.

Eastern New Mexico is now the only school in the LSC to have two players named as Players of the Week in the same week by the conference office after Wyatt Strand and Quincy Arceneaux earned Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week accolades in week two.

Terry’s 40 carries helped lead Eastern New Mexico back to a 27-24 win over Midwestern State and his three-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter helped pad a crucial 17-3 halftime advantage for the Hounds. The Amarillo, Texas native averaged 5.6 yards per carry on Saturday night and leads the Lone Star Conference in rushing yards by nearly 300 yards after totaling 153 carries for 887 yards in the first five games of the season.

Manyweather was also a key piece to the quick start for the Hounds on Saturday night, returning a punt 70 yards to the end zone at the 6:45 mark of the first quarter to put the Hounds ahead 7-0. That return for a score is just the fifth punt return for a touchdown this season by any team in the Lone Star Conference.

Terry and Manyweather will look to lead the Greyhounds past #4 Tarleton State on Saturday night inside Greyhound Stadium. Kickoff for that contest is slated for 6 p.m. and will be the finale of U.S. Bank Family Weekend hosted on the campus of Eastern New Mexico.
