PORTALES, NM — After rushing for over 2,800 yards in his first three seasons, Eastern New Mexico University’s Kamal Cass is no stranger to honors. Entering his senior season, the running back was chosen as a Preseason All-American in the all-purpose category by Streets & Smith.
With 1,349 yards to go to become ENMU’s all-time rushing leader, Cass has exceeded the 1,000-yard mark in each of the last two seasons. Statistical success hasn’t been his only calling card, as the Greyhounds qualified for the C.H.A.M.P.S. Heart of Texas Bowl in each of the last two seasons, after posting a 2-0 record in the Lone Star Conference playoffs to conclude his freshman campaign.
Cass garnered First Team All-AFCA All-American honors last season and was chosen as the LSC Offensive Back of the Year. He also is a two-time, First Team All-LSC selection. Cass’ 232 rushing yards against Western New Mexico University in Eastern’s Grand Opening of Greyhound Stadium last season was a career high.
