PORTALES, NM – The Eastern New Mexico University women’s basketball team has had many highly decorated players in its recent history, and Natalie Stice will soon be joining that group. The 5-7 guard from Tahoka High School has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Greyhounds next season.
“We are extremely excited to add a quality young lady in Natalie Stice,” said Head Coach Josh Prock. “She is an extremely tough young lady and very talented as well. She is one of the best shooters I have ever watched. Natalie has very good athleticism as well. Natalie has the ability to get by her defender as well, she is very skilled with the ball in her hands. She will bring depth to our back court next year and we are looking to see what she can accomplish during her career.”
As a junior, Stice garnered first team all-region and offensive MVP honors. Also very accomplished in the classroom, she made the Academic All-Star Team. At the end of the season, the Bulldogs was Bi-District runner-up for the second straight year. As a sophomore, Stice was the District 5-2A Offensive Player of the Year. She was the district Newcomer of the Year as a freshman. For her career, Stice has averaged 25 points per game and shot 80 percent from the free throw line.
Awards have regularly come Stice’s way throughout her career. She was chosen as First Team Lone Star Super Varsity Team multiple times. She also garnered three selections as Player of the Week.
