SANTA FE, NM – Twenty plus New Mexico State Parks are inviting residents to lend a hand in sprucing up these treasured outdoor spaces.
The State Parks beautification events—which are part of new statewide litter cleanup campaign—will take place October 18 through October 20.
“New Mexicans, it’s time to rally together to keep our land of enchantment beautiful. Join New Mexico State Parks teams as we kickoff this exciting campaign. This effort isn’t just about keeping our state parks clean; it’s about preserving the enchanting landscapes, vibrant communities, and heritage we all cherish,” said State Parks Director Toby Velasquez.
In addition to litter pick up, the State Parks events will include cleaning up wildlife habitats and other areas frequented by both people and animals. Park entry fees will be waived for anyone volunteering for the beautification effort. As always, if you display your Annual Pass there is no extra charge to enter a State Park.
Volunteers should bring work gloves, wear long sleeves and closed-toed shoes and sunscreen. They also should bring water and food or snacks.
Details about dates and times for events at individual parks is available on State Parks Event Calendar.
