Portales, NM – September 2, 2024 – St. Helen Catholic Church will host its annual fiesta on Saturday, Sept. 7, and Sunday, Sept. 8, sponsored by JP Stone Community Bank.
“We invite the whole community to come join us this weekend,” said John Houser, co-chair of the St. Helen Fiesta Committee. “We will have entertainment, fun, games, and excellent food for the whole family.”
This year’s fiesta focuses on family fun activities and music provided both on Saturday and Sunday. Live music will be featured throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday at the gazebo at the center of the church courtyard.
Various entertaining games will be present for kids of all ages over the weekend including a dunk tank. Kids can win tokens they can redeem for various prizes at the church prize room.
The ever-popular Navajo Tacos will be for sale in the parish hall, and various other delicious foods will be available throughout the weekend.
Other family fun events happening over the weekend include the car show on Saturday, a dance on Saturday night featuring a live DJ, and a cornhole tournament.
The fiesta culminates on Sunday with the raffle drawings for both the prize baskets and a cash raffle. St. Helen has had over 20 prize packages that have been donated to the fiesta ranging from mountain bikes to discos. Families can buy raffle tickets for these drawings at the fair up until the drawing time on Sunday at 5 p.m.
The cash raffle features $25 tickets for $12,000 in cash prizes. These tickets can also be purchased up until the drawing time on Sunday at 5 p.m.
