Voters registered to vote in City of Portales elections will receive a Special Mail Ballot on or about March 11, 2019 at the address on their voter registration by March 7, 2019 for the “Question as to whether Ordinance No. 737 should become effective.”  Completed ballots must be received at the City Clerk’s office by 7:00 p.m. April 4, 2019.  The ordinance changes the existing City Code expanding the purpose for economic development funds, but does not increase the existing sales tax.  Call the City Clerk or Deputy City Clerk at (575) 356-6662 for more information.  It is the voter’s responsibility to keep voter registrations current with the Roosevelt County Clerk.
