SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT-Central Christian Church
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and the recommendation on Monday from our President to limit groups to under 10 people, Central Christian has made the difficult decision to SUSPEND ALL CHURCH ACTIVITIES FOR 2 WEEKS. Our Pastoral Board (Elders & Deacons) met and discussed this at length. No one WANTED to do this, but all UNANIMOUSLY agreed we NEED to do this. Romans 13:1 tells us to “submit to governing authorities because of God.” For us to continue to meet would be a violation of Scripture, as we often state that we are a “Bible Believing-Bible USING” Church.
This means we will NOT have Bacon Brothers, we will NOT have the new Couples Class, no AMP or Spectrum, Wednesdays in the Word will stop, no Soup & Soul, the Ladies Tea has been postponed…AND ALL THREE SERVICES WILL NOT TAKE PLACE AT THE BUILDING. This is not easy, nor is it wanted, but we are asking ALL AGES TO STAY HOME and worship from there.
We will FULLY LIVESTREAM our Saturday night service and will post another link on Sunday morning at 10:30. If you have not done Livestreaming yet, it is VERY easy and completely free! Call the office if you have questions! We will continue to have PRAYER FURNACE on Tuesday AND THURSDAY at Noon-about 30 minutes of music and prayers-all done through Facebook Live! Several of our Connect groups have discussed doing “Watch Parties” for church! Maybe this is a GREAT time to teach your children about Communion and what “Church” really means!
This move is NOT out of fear…but out of a LOVE for our Entire Church Family. People over 50 are the people MOST at risk and we don’t want ANYONE sick. We have faith that God saw this coming long before we did! We are set up with Livestream, with Online Giving, and with our Connect Groups!
We have long-stated that the “Church is not the BUILDING!” God is giving us a wonderful opportunity here to BE the Church-we can love people where they are! We can reach out to neighbors, the elderly, single moms, or people that might already feel distant! Let’s LOVE people! PLEASE join us on Livestream this weekend! Please continue to put God FIRST in your tithe! (The tithe is giving to God FIRST! It is an act of worship…and we NEED to worship Him right now!!) And be ready to impact Portales and the world through this difficult Season!
It is our plan right now to be BACK IN REGULAR SERVICES on Palm Sunday-April 5! Until that time, PRAY for our First Responders, SUPPORT our Local Businesses, and be ready to BE THE BODY as we work together! See you on the Interwebs this weekend! We love you all!
