LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Eastern New Mexico softball landed six student-athletes on the 2021 Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athletes list, as announced by the NFCA this afternoon. The accolade is given to students that maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher during the 2020-21 academic year.
The Hounds saw Haleigh Behncke, Jordan Bowman,Brook Leger, Aylene Lucero, Bella Mendoza, and Juliana Vidal all recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom and exemplifying what it means to be a student-athlete.
The rankings and honors acknowledge the academic drive of softball teams across the association’s membership categories. The NFCA set a new high of honorees with over 8,800 student-athletes recognized in 2021 with NCAA Division III leading the way with 2,375 earning a 3.5 GPA or higher.
Frostburg State won the Division II Top GPA title, with a combined GPA of 3.791. Mercyhurst (3.785) and Wayne State University (3.772) rounded out the top three at the Division II level.
