PORTALES, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico softball welcomed No. 24 Angelo State University to Greyhound Softball Field for a conference doubleheader. The Hounds fell 14-5 in the first game and 17-4 in the second.

GAME ONE: ASU 14, ENMU 5 (5 INNINGS)

The Rambelles scored two or more runs in all five innings on their way to a 14-5 win in the first game.

ENMU tried to keep pace with a run in both the second and fifth innings and three runs in the fourth but it was not enough.

Offensively, the Hounds saw a season-high seven hits throughout the contest. Alanna Larkins blasted a three-run homer to center in the fourth inning, her first of the season. Azalea Martinez also had a strong outing as she went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and a double.

Tava Boone got the start and the loss in the circle for Eastern. Jordan Bowman came in during the third inning and finished out the game.

GAME TWO: ASU 17, ENMU 4 (5 INNINGS)

Angelo State once again jumped out to an early lead with six runs in the second inning as they secured the doubleheader sweep with a 17-4 win in the nightcap.

The Greyhounds were able to score a run in the bottom of the second and three runs in the fourth.

Martinez hit her first solo homer of the season in the bottom of the fourth. Mikenzey Patterson had a triple while Tianna Boone contributed a double. Overall, seven different Hounds registered a hit in the contest.

Brooke Leger was credited with the loss for Eastern. Maite Bustillos, Bowman, and Tava Boone all also saw time in the circle.
