TYLER, TEXAS – The Eastern New Mexico softball team traveled to No. 10 nationally-ranked UT Tyler on Sunday afternoon. The Greyhounds fell 15-0 in the first game and 11-0 in the second.

GAME ONE: NO. 10 UT TYLER 15, ENMU 0 (5 INNINGS)

UT Tyler jumped out to an early 10-0 lead after tallying four runs in the first inning and six runs in the second.

The Patriots continued to find success at the plate in the third and fourth innings as they extended the advantage to 15-0. Throughout the game, UT Tyler saw 11 hits, including home runs from Amanda Marek and Michelle Arias.

For the Hounds, Mikenzey Patterson recorded a single. In the circle, Brook Leger was credited with the start and loss for Eastern. Jordan Bowman and Maite Bustillos also made appearances.

GAME TWO: NO. 10 UT TYLER 11, ENMU 0 (5 INNINGS)

In the second contest, the UT Tyler bats stayed hot as the Patriots tallied five runs in the first inning and six in the fourth on the way to an 11-0 victory. Marek hit her second and third home runs of the day and Shelby Hughston also recorded a homer.

Patriot pitcher Erin Hill was working on a perfect game through the top of the fifth. However, Azalea Martinez broke that when she reached first on an error.

Tava Boone pitched most of the game for the Hounds and recorded two strikeouts in 4 innings of work.

Eastern New Mexico is back in action on Friday, March 12 when the Hounds welcome Angelo State to Greyhound Softball Field for a 3 p.m. conference doubleheader.
