PORTALES, NM – Jakorious Williams rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown as the silver team picked up a 51-28 win in the annual Green & Silver Game to conclude spring practice for the Eastern New Mexico University football team. A 50-yard Devon McGee fumble return highlighted a first half which saw the Silver team race to a 31-7 lead, Friday night at Al Whitehead Field at Greyhound Stadium.

The two teams combined to be an efficient 7-for-8 in scoring touchdowns in the redzone, with the silver team scoring on a Luke Bussen 23-yard field goal on the only other trip.

Terrence Trujillo completed 5-of-7 passing for the Silver team for 111 yards and a score, while Wyatt Strand hit 7-for-14 for 181 yards and two scores for the Green team. Ismail Garrett rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns on just 12 carries for the Green team. Elijah McCoy hauled in three receptions for 119 yards and two scores for the Green team.

After returning to the AFCA National Rankings for the first time in over a decade, the Hounds posted an 8-2 mark in the 20187 season. The only two setbacks of the season were to teams which made the NCAA Championships, including NCAA Division II National Champion, Texas A&M-Commerce. Eastern will host both A&M-Commerce and Lone Star Conference Champion Midwestern State in the2018 season.
