PORTALES, NM – The Eastern New Mexico University women’s basketball team has added another impact player for the 2018-19 season with the signing of Asha Ross to a National Letter of Intent. The 5-1 guard from Duncanville High School is expected to do big things for the Greyhounds.
“Our staff is excited to add Asha Ross to our 2018 recruiting class,” said Head Coach Josh Prock. “Asha is a very athletic wing and a tenacious defender. She is coming from one of the best high school programs in the country. Asha has competed at the highest level on both the high school and AAU scenes and will be more than ready to compete in the Lone Star Conference. She is an extremely dependable kid and a high character young lady. We are excited that she has decided to join our family.”
Ross led the Panthers to back-to-back conference titles and averaged 12 points and 15 rebounds per game. A strong shooter, she converted 70 percent of her attempts from the field and 85 percent from the free-throw line. She currently has DHS in contention for another strong season, with a 5-1 start. Ross guided her AAU team to state titles in 2016 and 2017.
