Obituary
Interment services were held for Ross Turnbough, 84, of Portales at 2:00 PM, Wed., April 27, 2022 in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Steven Turnbough, Eric Turnbough, Brad Seward, Tate Turnbough and Ryan Ainsworth served as pallbearers.
Ros Allen Turnbough was born Jan. 13, 1938 in Rogers, NM to the home of Ethel (Corbitt) and Allen Turnbough and died April 25, 2022 at his home. Ross grew up in the Rogers community, and graduated from Rogers High School. On July 15, 1961 in Portales, he was married to Barbara Anderson. Their home was blessed with four children. Ross lived his entire life in Roosevelt County where he farmed and ran a dairy. Ross bred show sheep, and a good number of them were champions. He loved to be outdoors, and for relaxation he went to the Gila Wilderness where he camped and fished and rode his horse, just enjoying nature.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of nearly 61 years of their home; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven Ross and Amanda Turnbough of Portales, Eric Wayne Turnbough and Michael Lynn Turnbough; a daughter and son-in-law, Misty Dawn and Brad Steward of Rio Rancho, NM; ten grandchildren, Meagan, Brianna, Tate, Hallie, Mattie, Skeeter, Piper, Taylor, Kerwin and Brad; and one great-grandson, Zayden; as well as various other family members and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jimmy and Arthur, two sisters, Onie Meador and Letha Clark and a grandson, Matthew Turnbough.
