He lived in San Antonio for a period of time, and started playing the market square at the small stages until he was able to hit the main stage and open for big acts. He is now a Lubbock resident, and plays regularly in the area. You won’t want to miss his take on “keepin’ country real,” on Tuesday, August 27th at 8:00 pm.

Performance: The Tylor Brandon Band on Thursday, August 29 at 8 PM (Slab)

In 2016, a night out singing Karaoke with friends changed Tylor Brandon’s life forever. After receiving acclaim from friends about his baritone vocal range, he began to perform with local New Mexico country artists before starting his own band in early 2017.

The core of the band took shape quickly with award winning fiddle player Emily Anslover and lead guitarist Joshua Lee joining shortly after the founding of his self-titled band was formed. They played together across the Southwest with a few lineup changes before adding drummer Braden Anderson and bassist Edgar Wonder. Tylor’s band offers a unique voice in country music combining a love for traditional country artists such as George Strait, with an energy modern Texas country artists bring. In the short time his band has been together, they have shared the stage with Cody Johnson, Joe Nichols, and Casey Donahew, among others!

Brandon was voted “Best Male Vocalist” in 2018 Weekly Alibi Reader’s Poll, and the band was awarded “Best Country & Western Band.” They are always looking to move their sound forward, and are currently writing their first album while continuing to play across the Southwest! You won’t want to miss Tylor Brandon and his band, “The Neon West.”

Performance: Randall King on Friday, August 29 at 10 pm (Slab)

Randall King was recognized by Garth Brooks as the new face of Country Music. “This kid is what country music is all about to me. The newcomer was most likely destined for greatness.”

Humble beginnings, a cultivated work ethic and the influences of classic country legends, synchronized together in perfect harmony, make up singer-songwriter from the West Texas Plains, Randall King. Growing up a fourth-generation hay-hauler, many of King’s songs are written and inspired by his deep southern heritage and family roots. King was raised listening to the rich and soulful, classic country voices of Keith Whitley, George Strait and Alan Jackson, to name a few, which helped create King’s musical style into what many have described as neo-traditional country. “Randall King remains to the heart and soul of country music, but no doubt brings his own unique brand to the genre,” says hit songwriter Mark Nesler (co-writer of “Just To See You Smile” by Tim McGraw, “You Look Good In My Shirt” by Keith Urban).

With a sound rooted in tradition and songwriting that showcases honesty, conviction and authenticity, King connects with fans on all emotional levels. “Randall King has a great voice that sounds classic, yet is fresh and as a songwriter he actually has something to say – be it something that touches your heart or something simple and fun that makes you wanna get out and raise some hell.” said multi-award-winning and critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Anthony Smith (co-writer of “Run” & “Cowboys Like Us” by George Strait). Unlike the west Texas wind, King is a grounded and talented singer-songwriter who is sure to stay. “There’s a lot of people that want country music to come back around, and there’s a lot of people that will say you have to sell out and play radio hits to make it. I think for e I want to make my stamp as an artist with this record, that I can be me and still make an impact across the country.

Saturday Night Dance: The Delk Band on Saturday, August 30 at 8:30 PM (Slab)

The Delk Band’s “East Camp Crew” will be on the main stage to provide the dance music for the big Saturday Night Dance at the Roosevelt County Fair on August 31st. There is not a better place to be on Saturday night of Labor Day Weekend.

They promise to keep you busy dancin’ to good swing music, a few waltzes and their ole standby “El Rancho Grande”.
