Memorial services for Ronald “Ronnie” Shirley, 74, of Portales will be held Nov. 16, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Floyd Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Wilcher officiating.  Burial will follow in the Floyd Cemetery.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Floyd Baptist Church.  For information you may contact the family directly at 575-562-9749.

Ronald “Ronnie” Shirley was born to Garland and Christina Shirley on July 29, 1950 in Portales.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.  Ronnie retired from Borden’s Peanut Mill after 29 years.  Ronnie was a member of the Floyd Baptist Church and was an active member and deacon.  He was married to Barbara Nixon, Mar. 8, 1974 in Floyd.

Ronnie is survived by Barbara, his wife of more than 50 years; his daughter, Rhonda and Vernie Davis; his son, Shane and Hilary Shirley; a daughter-in-law, Laurie and Larry Hall; 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jim Shirley, and his oldest son, Austin Hall; a brother-in-law, Herschel Nixon and his mother and father-in-law, Alford and Ola Mae Nixon.
