LUBBOCK, Texas – The Eastern New Mexico rodeo program finished its fall schedule at the Texas Tech University Rodeo this past weekend.
Madelyn Schauer had a strong performance over the weekend for the Greyhounds, advancing to the short round in goat tying and barrel racing. For goat tying, Schauer posted the quickest time in the long round, with a time of 7.0, which was tied for first after the short round. Following the short round, Schauer finished in 10th overall, with a time of 9.1 in the short round, for a total of 16.1 seconds in the average.
As for barrel racing, Schauer moved to the short round after finishing in 6th in the long round with a time of 17.38 seconds. Schauer would improve on her time in the short round, clocking a time of 17.31 seconds, which stood 4th in the short round. All together with a time of 34.69 seconds for the average, Schauer finished 4th overall in the field.
The rodeo team now will take a break for the winter, gearing up towards their spring schedule.
