RGH Foundation hosting 6th annual Skeet Shoot to raise funds for upcoming Orthopedic
Clinic at Roosevelt General Hospital

PORTALES, NM, September 15, 2022 – The RGH Foundation is hosting the 6th Annual Skeet Shoot to
raise funds for the newly constructed Orthopedic Clinic operated by Roosevelt General Hospital. All proceeds
are committed to enhance the patient’s overall experience during their visit. The shoot is scheduled for
Saturday, September 24 at Idsinga Dairy located at 43351 US Highway 70 in Portales, New Mexico.

Everyone is invited to participate in the ‘Shoot for Good Health’ fundraiser. The event is open to youth, men
and women of all ages. Divisions include youth, adult and team participation. Participants may register at the
event, calling 575-309-1998, emailing jorrantia@myrgh.org or visiting the RGH Facebook page.

The five-hour event begins at 8 a.m. All first place winners receive a prize. Entry fees range from $35 to $175.
Anyone under the age of 18 must present a hunter safety card during registration. All visitors and participants
must complete a waiver the day of the event before proceeding on to the skeet shoot area.

The skeet shoot has been on hold for several years due to the pandemic. In 2019, nearly $12,000 was raised at
the event. “We are hoping for a great turnout once again this year,” stated Kaye Green, CEO of Roosevelt
General Hospital. “We are very excited to open our new orthopedic clinic next month, which will be a huge
benefit to our community. Orthopedic surgery is a very expensive service to “get off the ground” largely due
to costly equipment that is needed. The skeet shoot will help defray a portion of those costs, and we are
grateful for those who support the event, especially the RGH Foundation members who generously give their
time and talent to host this event year after year.”

Fundraising efforts through RGH Foundation have been used in numerous ways to enhance the patient
experience including purchasing tv’s and lobby furniture for waiting areas, adding new floors for inpatient
area, acquiring up-to-date physical therapy equipment, addition of comfortable reclining chairs in patient
rooms, and upgrade the patient rooms in behavioral health with more suitable and inviting accommodations,
plus much more. “Items purchased by the Foundation for the hospital and clinic improve the overall patient
experience by providing our patients with items that make their stay more comfortable and enjoyable,” stated
Jeanette Orrantia, executive director of RGH Foundation.
