Breathe in…breathe out…breathe in…breathe out…
We’ve officially entered one of the most stressful times of the year for many. Trying to plan out whose family you are visiting for Thanksgiving and which family will be visited for Christmas. Or you might be planning on how many are coming to your home for the holidays. In which case you will also be trying to coordinate food – either what people bring or how much you’ll have to make. But in the midst of all this, don’t forget to breathe.
I had every intention of writing a devotional last week. But before I knew it, things were piling up. There were lessons to write, a trip to finalize plans for, etc. I really wanted to get something written up, but never could. In a way, I’m glad I couldn’t because by the time I had a chance it was my day off. And it was really tempting to try and write something up, but I was reminded of God’s command to rest. To not expect everything to be solved by yourself, to trust in His provision and to rest in His presence.
So as the holidays gear up and the baking lineups are finalized, as the trip schedules are laid out and the rooming situations are finished…don’t forget to breathe. Take time to stop and rest in the presence of God who loves you.
