Graveside services for Raymond K. Williams, 86, of Clovis, will be held at 10:00 AM, Thurs., Aug. 5, 2021 in the Portales Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Boydston officiating. All family members and his many friends will serve as honorary pallbearers. Raymond K. Williams of Clovis and Portales, New Mexico was born Aug. 14, 1934 in Sugar Notch, PA to the home of Esther and Raymond Williams and died Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Amarillo Center for Skilled Care.
Ray was a 1952 graduate of Meyers High School in Wilkes‐Barre, PA. Following graduation he joined the United States Air Force to serve his country. While stationed at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, NM he was married to Billie Nell Borden of Portales, NM on June 29, 1956. Together they had two children, a son and a daughter. They were married for 35 years before her death on Dec. 27, 1993. Ray attended classes at Eastern New Mexico University, and was employed by the U. S. Postal Service for 27 years before his retirement.
Wood working was his hobby, and he loved making craft items to decorate the yard. In addition, Ray loved camping, hunting and fishing which he was born to do. He was always ready to help anyone in need with any project.
On June 19, 1998 he married Mary Frances Tiffin of Clovis, NM. They were married 10 years before Mary’s death in May of 2008.
Ray is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Loretta Williams of Amarillo, TX; his daughter and son-in-law, Rae Nell and Robert Forshee of Portales; four grandchildren, Patricia and Amanda Parker and Sydney and Kelcey Williams; three great-grandchildren, Drayven and Melody Parker and Brandon Smith; a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Ona Williams of Sugar Notch, PA and a half-sister, Mae Frances Williams of VA. In addition to both of his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents.
