The Portales Rams traveled to Roswell on January 24 to face Roswell High. The game started off with Roswell scoring 19 to Portales’ 11 in the first period. In the 2nd, Portales outscored the Rockets 20-17, but that wasn’t enough to overcome the early deficit and both teams went into halftime with Roswell in the lead 36-31.
Despite having overcome most of their deficit, and being down only 5 points, Portales struggled in the 3rd period. The Rams were outscored 15-4 in the 3rd alone, which proved to be too much to overcome for them. The final score of the game was 71-52, with Roswell taking the win. Portales is now 7-12 this season.
