After the Portales Rams ended their football season on a high, claiming the NMAA Class 4A State Championship title, it set up the 2019-2020 basketball team with big shoes to fill, but a lot of momentum.
The Rams opened their basketball season with a home game against Dexter on December 3. After a completely dominating first half, the Rams were leading 47-16. The 2nd and 3rd periods were huge for the Rams, scoring more than 20 in each, which set them up for a big win against Dexter. The final score of the game was an impressive 79-34, moving the Rams to a 1-0 record to start the season!
