The girls golf team had their season opener at Rockwind Community Golf Course in Hobbs, NM on 3-22-17. Kaitlynne Underbrink and Janae Hale both competed in the days play. Kaitlynne shot a 124 with Janae shooting an 83. In her first tournament Janae got a qualifying leg so she only needs two more in order to qualify for State. Out of 6 teams playing, Janae finished up the day in 3rd. place.
On Friday the gold team headed to Ruidoso for a day of golf. This was the first time out for Kiki Helsley, Kinzie Davis and Mattison Blakey. According to Coach Candra Reynolds, “it was a tough day of golf with a very cold wind blowing all day however all the girls played well and came away with a smile!” Candra went onto to say, “This is a very young team however they are practicing and have a great attitude, we are looking forward to a great season of golf with these girls.”
