The Portales Rams hosted St. Pius X from Albuquerque on Saturday, April 3, 2021. Kickoff was at 1:00 PM at Eastern New Mexico University. The warm temperature in the high 70s was much different than the late fall temperatures the Rams are used to playing in. Fans were able to avoid jackets, blankets and earmuffs to end the season!
The game started out super slow, and continued through even the 3rd quarter with nothing but goose eggs on the scoreboard. Neither team scored until the final quarter when Portales QB/WR #8 Hagan Rains rushed 1 yard for the only touchdown of the game. Unfortunately, the Rams missed their extra point, so the game ended in a score or 6-0 for Portales.
The Rams finished the short 5 game season with a record of 4-1 was completed as follows:
- March 5 – 7:00 PM – Rams hosted Moriarty. Final score was 21-0 with the Rams winning.
- March 12 – 7:00 PM – Rams hosted Dexter. Final score was 34-6 with the Rams winning.
- March 20 – 1:00 PM – Rams traveled to Ruidoso. Final score was 45-10 with the Rams winning.
- March 26 – 7:00 PM – Rams traveled to Lovington. Final score was 36-20 with the Rams losing.
- April 3 – 1:00 PM – Rams hosted St. Pius X. Final score was 6-0 with the Rams winning.
