PORTALES, NM — With the 2017 season ready to start late next month, the Eastern New Mexico University football staff are prepared for another tough schedule. Prior to the start of practice and their grueling schedule, A quartet of Greyhound coaches which includes Head Coach Kelley Leewill share their knowledge with other coaches in the state.


On Tuesday, the pair have speaking engagements as part of the clinic. Lee will speak about developing unselfish skill players. With numerous statistical records set by the Greyhounds, as well as postseason appearances, All-Americans and all-conference players over the last few years, it is a topic Lee is well versed in.

Defensive Coordinator Ivan Cordova will address the topic of linebacker fundamentals. Prior to his arrival at ENMU, Cordova oversaw improvement in a defense at University of New Mexico which led to the Lobo’s first bowl appearance in almost a decade. He also coordinator several stellar defenses at New Mexico Highlands.

Offensive Line Coach/Run Game Coordinator Andrew McCraw will follow with a discussion on physical offensive line play. His previous stint at ENMU shows his ability in this area, as McCraw helped to develop one of the top running games in the nation in 2013 and 2014.

ENMU Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach Charles Rizzio will talk about drills and techniques for one-gap defensive line play. Before coming to Portales, Rizzio spent the 2016 season coaching the defensive line at Division II Southern Connecticut and helped lead the team to its first winning season in five years.
