PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico head volleyball coach Sia Poyer recently announced that he will be taking a leave of absence from the team.
Poyer’s absence will allow him time to focus on some personal health concerns during the next few months. Assistant coach Katie Burnett will serve as the interim head coach during coach Poyer’s absence, which will be effective immediately as the Hounds open up Lone Star Conference play this weekend with matches scheduled for Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.
The duration of this absence from the team will be for an indefinite amount of time.
Coach Poyer has been the head coach for Eastern New Mexico volleyball for six years and counting and has been associated with the program since 1990, serving as the team’s assistant coach for 14 seasons.
