The Portales girls hosted Artesia on Friday night, and controlled the game. They sent Artesia home with a tough loss. The bulk of their win came from dominating 2nd and 3rd periods, where the Lady Rams outscored Artesia 13-6 in the 2nd and 17-3 in the 3rd. The final score was 48-25, in favor of the Lady Rams, who are now 15-11 this season, and 5-1 in district.
The Portales boys didn’t favor so well in their Friday night game in Roswell against Goddard. The Rams were met with a tough opponent in the Rockets, who led on the scoreboard the entire game. The Rams struggled to catch up, and never could get enough baskets to solidify a win. The final score in favor of Goddard was 57-39. The Portales boys are now 16-11 this season, and 3-3 in district play.
