The Portales Lady Rams hosted Goddard Lady Rockets on Friday before the boys game. The first period was close, but Portales came out ahead 13-10.
Goddard outscored Portales in the 2nd, but it wasn’t to take the lead. The teams went into half with Portales ahead 20-18.
By the end of the 3rd, Portales had taken a commanding lead, and despite a tied 4th, the Lady Rams had come too far for Goddard to catch up. The final show was 51-38, handing Portales another win this season.
The Lady Rams are now 17-5 this season.
The boys game followed, and the outcome was different. Portales tried keeping up, but fell behind by halftime, with a score of 30-34.
By the end of the game, Goddard had pulled ahead just enough to solidify the game. The final score was 60-53, handing Portales a loss to their record, which is now 10-12.
