Dear Mayor Miller and City Council Members,
I am writing to formally submit my resignation as City Manager of Portales, effective May 23,
2025. This decision was not made lightly, as serving this community has been an honor and a
privilege. Working alongside such dedicated city staff, and leadership has been a rewarding
experience.
During my time in this role, I have had the opportunity to collaborate on initiatives aimed at
improving our city’s infrastructure, economic development, and overall well-being. While the
challenges have been significant, the progress we have made together in such a short time is
something I am truly proud of, and I have no doubt that the city will continue to thrive.
Although I am resigning, my commitment to a smooth transition remains steadfast. I will work
closely with the council and city staff in the next two months to ensure continuity and support for
the next phase of leadership.
I am deeply grateful for the instances of trust, support, and collaboration I have experienced
during my time with the city. Portales is a great community, and I look forward to seeing its
continued growth and success. Please let me know how I can assist during this transition.
